CuNiFer Brake Line Coils Manufacturer | Copper-Nickel-Iron Tubing

Corrosion-resistant CuNiFer (Copper-Nickel-Iron) brake & fuel line coils manufactured by Sunflex Metalloy for automotive, commercial vehicle, trailer and military vehicle applications — conforming to SAE J527, ISO 4038 and DIN 1785.

CuNiFer Brake Line Coil Overview

CuNiFer (Copper-Nickel-Iron, also known as 90/10 CuNiFe) brake line tubing is the industry-preferred alternative to traditional steel and copper brake lines, offering outstanding resistance to corrosion, road salt, brake fluid attack and vibration fatigue. Sunflex Metalloy manufactures CuNiFer brake line coils for OEM and aftermarket automotive brake systems, fuel lines, transmission oil cooler lines and hydraulic clutch lines.

CuNiFer tubing combines the corrosion resistance of Copper-Nickel alloy with the strength and double-flaring/bending characteristics required for automotive hydraulic brake systems, making it ideal for passenger cars, commercial trucks, trailers, buses, agricultural equipment and military vehicles operating in corrosive or coastal environments.

Why CuNiFer Outperforms Steel Brake Lines

  • Does not rust or corrode like conventional steel brake lines
  • Superior resistance to road salt, moisture and brake fluid degradation
  • Excellent formability — double-flares and bends without cracking
  • Lower long-term maintenance and replacement cost
  • Maintains ductility across a wide temperature range

Frequently Asked Questions

What is CuNiFer brake tubing made of?

CuNiFer (Copper-Nickel-Iron) brake line tubing is made from a 90/10 CuNiFe alloy — nominally 88% copper, 10% nickel, with controlled iron and manganese additions for strength and corrosion resistance.

Is CuNiFer better than steel for brake lines?

Yes. CuNiFer does not rust, resists road salt and brake fluid corrosion far better than steel, and is easier to bend and double-flare during installation, while meeting the same pressure and performance requirements per SAE J527.

What coil lengths and sizes are available?

We supply CuNiFer brake line coils from 4.75mm (3/16") to 12mm (1/2") OD, in standard coil lengths of 7.5m, 15m and 30m, or custom lengths on request.
